On May 13, 2013 Quality Labor Management (QLM) will be hosting an annual golf fundraiser to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The well-known Contractors Cup has returned for 2013 and will be hosted at The Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes in Longwood, Florida. Contractors from all over the Central Florida area will join together for a day of fun and food on the course, all while supporting this great beneficiary. The event has been hosted for ten years and has risen well over $400,000 for the charity. QLM hopes to raise $40,000 for this year.
Since opening 51 years ago, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has changed the way the world treats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The hospital has played a pivotal role in pushing U.S. pediatric cancer survival rates from 20 to 80 percent overall, and for every child treated there, thousands more have been saved worldwide through St. Jude discoveries.
“We’ve partnered with this wonderful organization to help raise money to fund their research efforts of finding cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Without their service, many families could not afford proper medical attention for their children. St. Jude does not discriminate against race, religion, or a family’s inability to pay” says Mark Lang, President/CEO of Quality Labor Management LLC.
On a daily basis, the operating cost for St. Jude is $1.8 million and is mostly funded by public contributions. Over the past five years, 81 cents of every dollar donated has been applied to the research and treatment for patients. No family every pays for St. Jude services.
Registration and practice starts at 7:00am (EST) on May 13. The standard scrambler tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Players can participate in several contests and a 50/50 drawing.
