Job Summary
Measure, cut, thread and assemble new pipe, placing the assembled pipe in hangers or other supports. Cut or drill holes in walls or floors to accommodate the passage of pipes. Must be OSHA Certified and Lift Certified.

Pay Range
$18-$23 per hour
A pipefitter helper’s job duties include:
· Assisting pipefitters: Pipefitter helpers assist pipefitters with the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems. They may also help with the layout and assembly of piping systems.
· Cutting and measuring pipes: Pipefitter helpers cut and measure new pipes.
· Removing old pipes: Pipefitter helpers remove old pipes and debris.
· Keeping the work area clean: Pipefitter helpers keep the work area clean.
· Filling pipes: Pipefitter helpers fill pipes or piping systems with water or air.
· Observing pressure gauges: Pipefitter helpers observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
· Assisting other trades: Pipefitter helpers may assist other trades and personnel as needed.
