Position: Business Development Location: Houston, Texas
Classification: Exempt Reports To: Director of Operations & Expansion
Summary/Objective
Responsible for achievement of sales, controllable profit, and P&L performance. Working with the Area Representative with the selling and service processes, in achieving sales goals. Drives sales and profits, supporting overall Branch performance.
Essential Functions:
Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets
Acts as a resource to re-sellers in contract opportunities and proposals
Assists with contract negotiations, closing the sale and developing marketing.
Assists with the planning of sales exhibits / presentations.
Coordinates and assists in leading sales meetings to include site.
Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of obtaining new accounts.
Answers questions from clients and addresses complaints or concerns.
Assist in developing a budget and price estimate using standard models.
Establish and maintain on-going client relationships with the various parties to anticipate and resolve potential problems. Participate in site visits
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred/Required:
3 to 5 years sales experience in the construction/trade industry or any combination of equal education and experience.
USL&H Staffing experience is a plus!
Knowledge and Skills
Detailed knowledge of the construction industry.
Physical Effort:
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer. Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time as needed. Ability to bend, reach, file, sit, stand, and move around the facility. Ability to speak, hear and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
