This year’s Contractor’s Cup was held on May 1st and was our most successful tournament to date! QLM in conjunction with The Faine House raised over 52 thousand dollars. Helping those less fortunate is one of the company’s core values and choosing The Faine House, as our charity of choice, fits right in! We start at 6:00 am on the day of the tournament with volunteers setting everything up from registration, displaying raffle and auction items and signage sponsorship.
The Faine House is a program of The Children’s Home Society of Florida, and their mission statement is “Change One Life, Change the World.” They strive to guide at risk teens into adulthood through education, employment coaching, transportation assistance, life-skills training and a safe place to live. This year alone there will be approximately 225 teens that will age out of foster care. When this happens, all state funding will stop, and these teens will be left with no support system in place. With the help of The Faine House, they become productive, confident adults.
A lot of time gets put into the planning of The Contractors Cup. One aspect of the planning process is soliciting for sponsors. QLM has some amazing customers, and many of our clients have participated in our golf tournament for 16 years. Service Complete, Austin Commercial, CEMEX, CPE, Jay Raymond Construction, Winter Park Construction, Hensel Phelps, Turner Construction Wharton Smith, Modern Plumbing and Randal Mechanical just to name a few. It is the perfect way to spend time with our customers face to face and build upon our relationships we have while we raise money for a worthy cause.
