QLM has partnered with a growing mechanical piping fabrication company in the Tempe, AZ area to identify experienced TIG Welders with a strong background welding stainless steel and carbon steel pipe in a fabrication shop environment. Pay Range
$33-$45 per hour
Responsibilities
- Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on stainless steel and carbon steel pipe.
- Fit, measure, and assemble pipe and fabricated components to precise specifications.
- Read and accurately interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Perform proper fit-up, tack welding, and final welding of piping assemblies.
- Verify dimensions and maintain quality throughout the fabrication process.
- Work closely with fitters and Quality Control to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience TIG welding stainless steel and carbon steel pipe is required.
- Experience fitting pipe and accurately interpreting fabrication drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of weld quality, fit-up, and fabrication tolerances.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication shop environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Required Weld Test
Candidates must successfully pass a hands-on weld test that includes:
- Open Root Plate Test
- Hardwire (GMAW)
- Dual Shield (FCAW)
- 3G and 4G welding positions
