Job Summary

Our client, a leading maritime and port operations organization, is seeking an experienced Marine Vessel Superintendent to oversee vessel loading, discharge, stowage planning, and daily port operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant vessel operations while managing personnel and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Pay Range

$65k – $75k per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee vessel loading, unloading, berthing, and departure activities.
  • Develop and execute cargo stowage, load, and discharge plans.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with ship crews, port authorities, and operational teams to maximize efficiency.
  • Lead and supervise vessel operations personnel, providing guidance and support.
  • Monitor schedules, resources, and operational performance to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of vessel stowage experience with containerized and breakbulk cargo.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in maritime, stevedoring, or related operations.
  • Strong understanding of vessel operations, cargo handling, and maritime safety practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Marine Engineering, or related field preferred.

Preferred

  • Hazmat Certification
  • OSHA familiarity
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
