Safety Engineer – Commercial Construction
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Jobsite / Field
Schedule: Monday–Friday; additional hours or weekends may be required based on project needs

Job Summary
We are seeking a Safety Engineer to support safety operations on large-scale commercial construction projects. This is a field-based position working alongside the Safety Manager, Superintendents, project leadership, and trade partners to maintain a safe and compliant jobsite.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in construction safety while gaining hands-on experience with safety inspections, hazard analysis, accident prevention, OSHA compliance, incident investigations, and overall jobsite safety management.
Responsibilities
- Support the Safety Manager and project team with day-to-day construction safety activities
- Monitor jobsite activities and identify unsafe conditions or work practices
- Assist with implementation of safety policies, procedures, and accident prevention plans
- Review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and participate in follow-up inspections
- Conduct regular jobsite safety audits and inspections
- Assist with OSHA inspections and regulatory compliance
- Participate in accident and near-miss investigations
- Assist with injury management and claim reporting
- Monitor subcontractor and trade-partner safety performance
- Maintain project safety documentation and records
- Participate in safety training and competent-person courses
- Communicate safety expectations with field personnel, subcontractors, and project leadership
Qualifications
- Previous construction safety or field construction experience preferred
- 4-year degree preferred, with Occupational Safety & Health or a related field a plus
- Knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards and regulations
- Experience with JHAs/AHAs, safety inspections, hazard identification, and incident reporting preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in an active construction environment and spending the majority of the day in the field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Excel; experience with Prolog, Primavera, or Autodesk software is a plus
- Valid driver’s license required

Candidates with Safety Coordinator, Safety Technician, Safety Inspector, EHS, or similar construction safety experience are encouraged to apply.
