Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our field crew. You will be responsible for operating various types of earthmoving machinery—primarily excavators, trackhoes, and skid steers—for trenching, site preparation, grading, utility installation, and material handling. The ideal candidate prioritizes job site safety, maintains equipment with care, and delivers precise, productive work on schedule.

Pay Range
$28-30 per hour
Job location- Kenner, LA
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe and efficient operation of excavators/trackhoes and skid steers (wheeled and tracked) to perform digging, trenching, grading, loading, and backfilling.
- Execute earthmoving tasks according to project plans, stakes, grade marks, and utility lines.
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift machine inspections, fluid checks, greasing, and daily maintenance logging.
- Monitor job site conditions, weather factors, and underground utility markings (811 line locates/pot-holing) prior to digging.
- Assist ground crews, pipe layers, or grade checkers when not operating machinery.
- Safely load, unload, and secure machinery on trailers for site transfers as needed.
- Adhere strictly to company safety policies, site rules, and OSHA excavation and trenching standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of verifiable hands-on experience operating excavators, trackhoes, and skid steers in commercial, industrial, or heavy civil utility environments.
- Technical Skills: Ability to dig to grade, work cleanly around existing underground utilities, and switch out attachments (buckets, hydraulic breakers, augers, trenchers).
- Physical Demands: Ability to work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions; capability to lift up to 50–75 lbs and climb in/out of cabs repeatedly.
- Dependability: Strong work ethic, punctual attendance, clear communication skills, and safety-conscious mindset.
