Job Summary

Hensel Phelps is hiring a Safety Manager for an on‑site, full‑time position in El Paso, TX, as part of its Mission Critical Integrated Solution (MCIS) team. The role supports the senior safety manager and project team in ensuring the safe and compliant completion of construction projects

Pay Range

$90k-$120k per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing safety and health processes for a construction project, working closely with the senior safety manager and project team
  • Support safety start‑up, program development, implementation, and management
  • Oversee the safety point file system and maintain project statistical data
  • Work with the project team to create and manage the safety budget and anticipate necessary safety supplies
  • Participate in executive safety culture charrettes and assist the CARES (craft safety) committee
  • Conduct activity hazard analyses and follow‑up inspections as part of the six‑step quality control/safety process
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders including project owners, insurance carriers, Hensel Phelps staff, and trade partners
  • Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Prolog, Primavera, AutoCAD) for safety documentation and project coordination

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: 4‑year degree preferred; Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in safety on commercial construction projects
  • Certifications: Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) designation suggested
  • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, budget management, hazard analysis, regulatory compliance, and risk management
  • Other: Valid driver’s license, ability to work on‑site, and familiarity with construction safety systems
