Pay Range
26$-28$ per hour
We are seeking a professional responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy construction site that complies with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, such as those from OSHA. Their primary goal is to prevent accidents, injuries, and health hazards
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments: Regularly inspect the job site, equipment, and work conditions to identify potential hazards (e.g., fall risks, improper machinery use, hazardous materials) and implement preventative measures.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols: Create and update site-specific safety plans, emergency response procedures, and health and safety policies to mitigate identified risks.
- Provide safety training: Organize and lead safety orientations, weekly “toolbox talks,” and task-specific training sessions (e.g., confined space entry, scaffolding use, fall protection) to ensure all workers are informed about potential hazards and safety procedures.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses: In the event of an accident or incident, secure the area, investigate the root causes, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain records: Stay current with evolving safety legislation (e.g., OSHA standards) and maintain detailed logs of injuries, inspections, training sessions, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency response: Develop and coordinate emergency preparedness plans and drills for scenarios such as fires, structural failures, or chemical spills.
- Promote a safety culture: Encourage workers to report hazards, promote safe practices, and foster an environment where safety is prioritized by everyone on the team
- OSHA 30 certification
- Ability to speak and communicate in English
- Strong communication skills and ability to correspond professionally with customers
- Capable of recording, tracking, and reporting safety issues
- Managing General Work Permits and Hot Work Permits
- Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively train employees and prepare detailed reports.
- Leadership capabilities and the ability to enforce safety procedures diplomatically.
