Electrical Assistant Project Manager – Hyperscale Data Center Electrical Contractor | Mission Critical / Hyperscale | Hamlet, NC We are seeking a qualified Assistant Project Manager for an electrical contracting client to support hyperscale data center electrical construction in Hamlet, NC. This role supports the Project Management team in planning, execution, coordination, and closeout activities on a large-scale mission critical electrical scope. Candidates must have electrical construction experience and must have come from an electrical contracting background. Pay Range
$105k-$125k per year
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Project Manager and Project Manager in the management and organization of assigned hyperscale data center project(s)
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change order documentation, and project logs with accuracy and urgency
- Track and manage material and equipment procurement including long-lead critical gear
- Maintain project documents including RFI logs, submittal registers, material delivery schedules, and action item trackers
- Coordinate with field superintendents on daily production tracking and resource needs
- Prepare project status reports, cost tracking updates, and progress documentation
- Assist with monthly billing preparation and cost-to-complete reporting
- Attend and document project meetings including weekly OAC, coordination, and safety meetings
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors on delivery schedules and scope clarifications
- Support commissioning coordination and systems turnover documentation
- Review daily field reports and ensure field teams have correct specifications and current drawing sets
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical construction in a project management, project engineering, or APM support role
- Electrical contracting background required — GC or owner-side candidates will not be considered
- Exposure to mission critical, data center, or large-scale commercial electrical construction preferred
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office suite including MS Project
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and contracts
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- OSHA 10 minimum; OSHA 30 preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred
