Job Summary
MUST HAVE TWIC CARD. We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to support cargo handling and daily operations at the Port of Alabama. The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial forklifts in a fast-paced maritime, warehouse, or logistics environment. This position plays a critical role in the safe movement, loading, unloading, and storage of cargo throughout the port facility.

Pay Range
$18.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, stack, and transport cargo and materials.
- Handle containers, pallets, equipment, and other freight in accordance with operational procedures.
- Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of cargo movement and inventory transactions.
- Assist with vessel loading and unloading operations as directed.
- Follow cargo handling procedures and ensure materials are properly secured.
- Support warehouse, dock, and yard operations as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all port, OSHA, and company safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, crane operators, truck drivers, and other port personnel.

- Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Frequent sitting, standing, climbing, bending, and walking.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working around heavy equipment, cargo containers, vessels, and industrial machinery.
