Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating an asphalt paver or similar heavy equipment (preferred).
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques and equipment operation.
- Ability to read and understand job specifications, grades, and work instructions.
- Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate asphalt paver and related equipment according to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Set up, monitor, and adjust the paver to achieve proper depth, width, slope, and alignment.
- Work closely with the paving crew, roller operators, and foreman to ensure consistent and high-quality paving results.
- Inspect and maintain the paver before, during, and after operation; report any mechanical issues.
- Assist with daily preparation of the job site, including checking grade, material supplies, and equipment readiness.
- Control paver speed and material flow for optimal mat quality.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and participate in daily safety meetings.
- Perform minor cleaning and maintenance tasks, including lubrication and clearing build-up from machine components.
- Support general crew duties when equipment is not in operation (e.g., raking, shoveling, or site cleanup).
