Pay Range
$35-$45 per hour
Knowledge and Understanding of the Work
a. Ability to understand the project and bid requirements and organize the bid package
b. Responsible for planning and scheduling bid requirements to bid on project(s) efficiently
c. Communicate with peers on a daily basis the activities required to submit a bid
d. Obtain the technical knowledge to meet the requirements for the work
2. Scheduling
a. Establish and meet goals for time completion of the work at hand, can prioritize as needed
b. Prior to starting work, review the schedule, update and discuss with manager
c. Organize and schedule the work on a daily and a weekly basis (develop a bi-weekly bid schedule)
d. Coordinate and communicate with subs and supplies respectfully on upcoming needs to avoid delays
e. Keep manager informed on the day-to-day operations and anticipated problems
f. Ensure timely completion of work and bids, submit bids timely
3. Budget Control
a. Take responsibility for the bid, understand and organize pricing
b. Understand and sort quotes and disseminate responsibility and quantities of the work
c. Document work completed and report bids accurately
d. Secure subs and vendors for efficiency, accuracy, ease of use and cost control
e. Participate in the budget, subcontracts and purchase orders of all successful bids
f. Assist the project personnel with budget, codes, scheduling and other issues related to the bid
g. May review monthly estimate with owner’s representative in a timely manner or assist with monthly pay estimate submittal
h. Assist with correspondence regarding the changed conditions, extra work, submittals, transmittals, etc.
Print and review monthly cost reports on projects
4. Record Keeping / Administrative Responsibilities
a. Maintain an accurate file system for Lee estimating activities, ads, notices, bids, vendors, quotes, conversations, negotiations, schedules, DBE’S, Owners, etc.
b. Establish Engineering Files for all post award successful bids
c. Inform management of any problems or anticipated problems on bids or projects
d. Maintain a working knowledge of Lee’s estimating software
e. Maintain directory of contacts and vendors associated with the work
5. Equipment Use and Care
a. Obtain and maintain equipment pricing needed for the work, update Lee rates periodically
b. Use company equipment respectfully
Engineering degree
FE Certification is a plus
HCSS Software is a plus
Someone with field experience doing whole process, Take offs, Scheduling, Solicitations, Vendor Communication
Field experience outweighs office experience
5-8 years of experience is ideal
Bridge experience is a plus
