Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Buck Hoist Operator to join our construction team in Charleston, SC. The operator will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining the buck hoist to transport workers, tools, and materials vertically on multi-story construction projects.

Pay Range
$17-$18 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Operate buck hoist equipment to lift and transport personnel, tools, and materials between floors on the job site.
- Perform daily pre-operational safety inspections of the hoist and related equipment.
- Communicate clearly with ground crews, site supervisors, and contractors to coordinate lifts and maintain workflow.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and company protocols.
- Monitor load weights to prevent overloading and ensure safe operation.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance of hoist machinery as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized hoist area.
- Record operational data and report any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience operating hoists or similar heavy equipment preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and load capacity principles.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Schedule
- Flexible hours; may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends depending on project needs.
