Job Summary
The Estimator will estimate the costs and resources required for a construction project, from initial concept to completion. Their primary responsibility is to provide accurate cost estimates that helps project stakeholders make informed decisions regarding budgeting and resource allocation.

Pay Range
$85K-$125K per Year
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Project Assessment: Review plans and specifications to understand project scope.
- Cost Analysis: Evaluate material, labor, and equipment costs; identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Calculate material quantities for various project components.
- Vendor Coordination: Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate, itemized project cost estimates.
- Bid Preparation: Develop competitive bid proposals and tender documents.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential financial risks and recommend solutions.
- Budget Management: Assist in budget creation and monitor expenditures.
- Software Utilization: Use estimating tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Documentation: Maintain records of estimates, quotes, and project costs.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Experience as a construction estimator or related role.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
- Understanding of local building codes and regulations.
- Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Team-oriented with strong time management skills.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of five years in commercial construction estimating.
