Job Summary
Quality Labor Management is seeking a full-time Database Specialist (Geotechnical Focus) to support a state transportation materials program and its Materials Acceptance and Certification (MAC) system. This is an in-office position with no option for remote work. This advanced-level role involves technical work supporting a highway materials testing application. The position maintains portions of the MAC system and performs advanced database functions in support of the Geotechnical Materials Program and the Materials Program Performance Section. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and organized, with the ability to create customized system entries while ensuring the system remains consistent across materials and technical areas. Strong computer skills are required, including experience with Microsoft tools such as Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Access, and Excel. Prior experience working with relational database management systems (RDBMS) is preferred, along with proficiency in Visual Basic, SQL (Structured Query Language), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and business intelligence tools and concepts.

Pay Range
$23 per hour
Key duties include:
- Develop and maintain MAC specifications for the Geotechnical Materials Program
- Create, revise, and maintain geotechnical test definitions, including targets, limits, and sampling/testing requirements
- Perform data processing using appropriate software tools, including storage and analysis; prepare detailed engineering reports on findings
- Ensure test definitions, comparison definitions, evaluation checklists, and inspection checklists remain current and consistent across the system
- Support the Quality Systems unit with database and reporting development and ongoing maintenance
- Assist the Database Information Team with data compilation and analysis
- Troubleshoot data issues, uploads, and application programming problems
- Respond to and assist with Service Desk tickets related to MAC
- Review MAC access requests and ensure they are routed to and processed by the appropriate District Application Coordinator
- Assist with programming enhancements to MAC in compliance with the Office of Information Technology application development standards
- Assist with State Materials Office SharePoint development and maintenance, including Power Apps
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Technical Skills
- Strong computer skills
- Experience with Microsoft tools, including:
