Job Summary
QLM is hiring Dry Wall Hangers who are experienced in installing large-scale gypsum board panels on walls and ceilings in commercial and industrial settings, such as factories, warehouses, and office complexes. They are responsible for precision cutting, fastening panels to steel studs, and, in some cases, applying initial finish coats. Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience in commercial or industrial drywall installation.
Technical Knowledge: Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using drywall lifts, screw guns, routers, and T-squares.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, work on scaffolds/stilts, and perform heavy lifting.
Key Responsibilities
Installation: Measure, cut, and fasten drywall panels to metal or wood studs on walls, ceilings, and partitions.
Precision Cutting: Fit panels around obstacles like HVAC ducts, electrical outlets, and windows.
Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials on-site, often lifting panels weighing up to 75 pounds.
Structural Setup: Securely fasten insulation and, in some cases, install metal corner beads and studs.
Finishing (When Required): Apply tape and compound (mud) to joints and screw holes to achieve a smooth, paint-ready surface.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to OSHA regulations, maintain a clean work environment, and wear required PPE.
Coordination: Collaborate with other trades (electricians, plumbers) to ensure proper installation around, or over, building systems.
