Wood Electrical Services is looking for a Hands-On Electrical Service Manager. Wood Electrical Services is a Family-Owned Business that has been in the Electrical Contracting business for over 50 years in the near Northwest Houston area. Our Valued Customers base is with Multi-Family, Residential, High-Rise Condo’s, Commercial and Manufacturing businesses.

Pay Range
$40-42 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of Ten years of experience performing Primary Responsibilities.
- Must possess a current/active Texas Driver’s License.
- Proficient in mechanical aptitude, written and verbal communication skills and the English language. Bilingual in Spanish, is a Plus.
- Proficient in basic Electrical Theory and its application to installations, to meet all National Electrical Code requirements.
- Maintain a neat and professional image.
- Texas Electrical Journeyman’s License
Job Description Primary Responsibilities
- Daily Job List Updates in coordination with Technicians, Project Managers, General Manager and Office Personnel.
- Timely Job Scheduling, Dispatching and Follow-Up with Technicians and Sub-Contractor’s in coordination with Office Personnel.
- Conduct Small Project reviews with Customers and assist with the Scope of Work and provide timely Proposals.
- Small Project Responsibilities to include Customer Communications, Personnel Scheduling and Material procurement.
- Customer Communications to determine the Customer’s needs, Job Priorities, Technician assignment and required Materials.
- Working knowledge of the installation and repairs of Electrical systems to include Proficient Trouble Shooting techniques in Multi-Family, Commercial and Manufacturing to 480 volts.
- Working knowledge and skills to install and repair Conduits, MC Cable, PVC, Romex and other Electrical wiring systems and associated components.
- Provide preliminary sketches, Material Take-off for Materials and Services in coordination with Project Managers and General Manager.
- Mentor on Safe Work Practices and PPE Compliance and Discipline as required, Conduct Yearly Reviews for Service Technicians, Apprentices and Shop personnel.
- Oversee and instruct on the Safe Operation of tools and equipment, electrical principles, and applicable codes.
- Shop responsibilities to include Company Truck and Tool assignments, Shop Material usage documentation and other Asset Management, in coordination with the General Manager.
- Validate Service Technician’s required Daily Service Documentation for Material and Labor accuracy.
- Monitor costs for the assigned work in coordination with the Project Manager and General Manager.
- Maintain availability for after Hours Emergency Calls and maintain the after-hours Technician Emergency’s work availability schedule.
- Ensure all work is performed within the confines of Wood Electrical Services Safety Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
- Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints, written as well as verbal instructions.
- Perform other project-related duties and assignments, as instructed by the General Manager.
- Motor Controls and High Voltage experience is a PLUS.
- New Customer Sales solicitation.
- Must maintain a Quality Attendance and Safety record.
- Both Written and Verbal Communication Skills as well as Organizational and Computer Skills are required.
