Job Summary
A Journeyman Plumber is a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They ensure the efficient operation of water supply and waste disposal systems. Pay Rate: $28-$40 Responsibilities: Installation and Maintenance: Install pipes, fittings, fixtures, and plumbing systems. Maintain and repair existing plumbing infrastructure. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and building specifications to map out plumbing systems. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, including leaks and blockages. Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, advising clients on necessary repairs and improvements. Team Leadership: Lead teams of apprentices or helpers, providing guidance and support. Inventory Management: Order plumbing supplies and maintain inventory. Cost Estimation: Estimate costs for plumbing services and present detailed invoices to clients. Skills and Qualifications: Technical Skills: Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threading machines, and welding equipment. Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to efficiently resolve plumbing issues. Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members. Certification: Valid journeyman plumber license. Work Environment: Journeyman Plumbers work in various environments, including residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial sites. They may work indoors or outdoors, depending on the project requirements.
