Pay Range
$20 to $32 per hour
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in commercial low voltage installation
- Proven experience with fire alarm systems (installation, troubleshooting, inspections)
- Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local building codes
- Experience with fire alarm systems such as Notifier, Simplex, EST, or similar (preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage wiring systems, including:
- Fire alarm systems
- Data/communication cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic)
- Access control systems
- CCTV and security systems
- Install and service fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 and local codes
- Perform system inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of fire alarm panels and devices
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Program and configure fire alarm and low voltage systems (if applicable)
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and complies with NEC and local regulations
- Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and inspectors
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service calls, and inspections
- Respond to service calls and emergency repairs as needed
