Job Summary
QLM is looking for experienced Metal Stud Commercial/Industrial Framers for a long term project in the Melbourne Area. Looking for Metal Stud Framer who specializes in constructing interior and exterior wall frameworks, ceilings, and partitions for commercial or industrial projects using light-gauge steel instead of wood. Key duties include reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and securing metal tracks and studs, ensuring structures are precise, fire-resistant, and aligned for drywall installation. Pay rate is: $28/hr Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am – 4pm Can get you started right away.

Pay Range
$28 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Layout and Assembly: Reading blueprints to determine dimensions and layout of walls, partitions, and ceilings.
Cutting and Installing: Measuring, cutting, and installing metal studs, tracks, and bridging to create structural frames.
Securing Framing: Fastening tracks to floors and ceilings, and securing studs in place using screws, clips, or welding.
Preparation for Finishes: Ensuring framing is level, plumb, and aligned to support drywall or other wall coverings.
Safety Adherence: Operating power tools, laser levels, and lifts safely, while maintaining a clean, OSHA-compliant job site.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications.
Tool Experience: Experience with hand/power tools (drills, chop saws, lasers) and scaffolding.
Physical Ability: Capable of heavy lifting (50+ lbs), climbing, and working overhead for extended periods.
Precision: Strong attention to detail for accurate measurements.
Experience: Previous construction experience, specifically in metal framing, is typically required.
