Hiring Pipe Fitters and Pipe Welders in Charlotte NC. Long term project based work.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in industrial construction
- 3+ years of experience in Pipe Fitting/Welding
- Ability to read and interpret documents/prints/schematics
- Ability to communicate/ take directions with foremen and team members
- Willingness to show up on time and with a good attitude daily, contribute to the success of the project
- Recognizing and/or correcting + communicating job site hazards
- Consistent focus on Safety, Productivity and Quality
- Lifting up to 50lb or more
- Standing for long periods of time
- Climbing ladders, working at heights, wearing/using fall protection harness
- Having necessary PPE and tolls to stay in safety compliance and complete daily assignments
- Having reliable transportation
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints
- Fasten pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools, and welding equipment
- Cut and bore holes in structures with hand / power tools prior to pipe installation
- Select pipe sizes / types and related materials (i.e., supports, hangers, hydraulic cylinders, etc.) according to specifications
- Cut, thread, and hammer pipe using saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders and benders
- Identify & correct safety hazards
- Inspect and test installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods
- Determine the tools and equipment needed
- Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
- Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings and related machines and equipment with hand / power tools
