Job Summary
The Service Department Manager oversees all aspects of the service department and service department work orders. Successful management of the service department will include effective and efficient planning and management of the department’s assigned staff, resources, schedule and budget.

Pay Range
$33 to $40 per hour
Service Department Manager:
- Department Organization – Manage assigned staff to receive, process, and fulfill work orders. Manage all aspects of work orders, Financial, Schedule, Materials, Labor and Equipment.
- Leadership – Set clear goals and expectations to assigned staff. Identify areas of coaching and training required for assigned staff. Clearly identify areas of improvement, including staff strengths and weaknesses.
- Contract Management – Review, price and manage all work order scope and coordination changes. Prepare and submit invoices in a timely manner. Assist in following up on all outstanding invoices.
- Communication – Record and communicate department progress and challenges to management on a regular basis. This will include staffing needs, equipment requirements, invoicing statuses, etc.
- Department Development – Develop and maintain a network of lead generating opportunities to help grow the department. Work to organize the department and its staff to support growth. Work with management to foster and maintain a reputation of service and quality in the community.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with estimating software
Proficient in MS Office Suite and QuickBooks
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently
High School diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
At least 5 years of estimating commercial electrical project experience required
