Pay Range
$15.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities of a Port Escort:
- Ensuring Valid Identification:
- Verify that escorted individuals possess valid identification and a reason for being in the port.
- Maintaining Proximity:
- Accompany the escorted individual(s) side-by-side throughout their visit, maintaining continuous physical proximity and visual contact.
- Monitoring Activities:
- Observe the escorted individual(s) to ensure they are not engaging in any unauthorized or suspicious activities.
- Reporting Suspicious Behavior:
- Contact terminal security or the Facility Security Officer (FSO) if the escorted individual(s) are observed engaging in unlawful or suspicious activity.
- Following Procedures:
- Adhere to the port’s TWIC escorting policy and security protocols.
- Transferring Responsibility:
- If applicable, transfer responsibility for the escorted individual(s) to the ship’s Vessel Security Officer (VSO).
- Logging In/Out:
- Ensure the escorted individual(s) are properly logged in and out at designated access stations.
