Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Electrical Estimator for an electrical contracting client to develop competitive bids and estimates across commercial and industrial project types. This is an onsite position based in Greensboro, NC supporting the Preconstruction team in all aspects of bid preparation, scope development, and project handoff. Candidates must have direct estimating experience within an electrical contracting firm. Residential backgrounds and general contracting candidates without direct electrical scope estimating experience will not be considered.

Pay Range
$95k-$110k per year
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans and specifications to produce accurate quantity take-offs for commercial and industrial electrical scopes
- Develop competitive estimates from conceptual budgets through hard bid submission
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain current material and equipment pricing
- Participate in bid strategy, scope review, and presentation processes with senior leadership
- Maintain and update estimating databases, unit cost libraries, and historical bid data
- Perform plan reviews for constructability, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities
- Support preconstruction services including design-assist and design-build engagements
- Collaborate with project management teams during project handoff to ensure estimate accuracy carries through to execution
- Build and maintain relationships with GCs, owners, and key supplier partners in the local market
Qualifications
- 3+ years of electrical construction estimating experience required
- Commercial or industrial electrical contractor background required — residential will not be considered
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, NEC code, and construction drawings
- Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet submission deadlines
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered
Compensation & Benefits
- $95k-$115k per year plus, commensurate with experience
