Job Summary

Electrical Project Manager – Data Center Electrical Contractor | Mission Critical / Data Center | Charlotte, NC We are seeking a qualified Electrical Project Manager for an electrical contracting client to lead the full lifecycle of a data center construction project in Charlotte, NC. This role carries complete project responsibility from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout on a mission critical electrical scope. Candidates must have direct data center electrical construction experience and must have come from an electrical contracting background. General contracting, MEP coordination, or owner-side candidates will not be considered.

Pay Range

$130-$175k per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of electrical construction on a data center project from contract award through final commissioning and closeout
  • Maintain full financial responsibility including budget management, monthly billings, cost-to-complete forecasting, and change order management
  • Develop and maintain project schedules aligned to data center owner program milestones and delivery requirements
  • Coordinate directly with the owner, general contractor, commissioning agents, and critical systems vendors
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation with accuracy and urgency
  • Direct field superintendents on daily production targets, manpower planning, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate critical systems installation including high-voltage distribution, UPS, switchgear, generator systems, and PDUs
  • Lead weekly OAC, coordination, and subcontractor meetings with thorough documentation
  • Oversee long-lead equipment procurement including transformers, switchgear, and critical power gear
  • Support commissioning coordination and systems turnover activities in partnership with Cx agents and facility operations
  • Mentor and develop APMs and project engineers supporting the project

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of electrical construction project management experience required
  • Direct data center or mission critical electrical construction experience required — candidates without this background will not be considered
  • Must have come from an electrical contracting firm; GC, MEP, or owner-side backgrounds will not be considered
  • Proven experience managing electrical scopes of $15M or greater
  • Strong understanding of data center power distribution, redundancy architecture, and critical systems commissioning
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project or Primavera P6
  • OSHA 30 required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent professional experience

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary $130,000 to $175,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Company Vehicle / Travel Reimbursement / Per diem
