THE ROLE
The Assistant Project Manager supports the PM team on active bridge and heavy civil projects. You’ll be embedded in day-to-day project operations — tracking schedules, supporting contract administration, and working directly alongside field leadership. This is an ideal role for an engineering graduate or early-career construction professional looking to grow into a full PM seat on bridge projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support project managers on scheduling, contract tracking, and owner communication
- Read and interpret construction plans; assist in managing self-perform concrete crews
- Compute concrete quantities and support field quantity takeoffs
- Coordinate with field superintendents to track daily progress and flag issues early
- Assist with submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
- Utilize B2W, Excel, and Access for project tracking and reporting
REQUIREMENTS
- Bridge project exposure preferred; heavy civil background considered
- Engineering candidates with the ability to compute concrete quantities encouraged to apply
- Proficiency in B2W, Excel (formatting and insert), and Access
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment alongside hands-on crews
- SCDOT familiarity a plus
COMPENSATION $85,000 – $100,000 Bonus program, ESOP, and profit sharing Medical, dental, vision | 401(k) and Roth Company vehicle eligibility considered based on experience
