Job Summary
The Commercial Electrical Service Technician is responsible for performing service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems within commercial buildings and facilities. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, customer-facing professionalism, and the ability to work independently on service calls. The technician ensures safe, code-compliant work while delivering timely and reliable solutions to commercial clients.

Pay Range
$25-$30 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to commercial service calls and perform troubleshooting, repairs, and system upgrades
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical panels, breakers, lighting systems, and branch circuits
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime for clients
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
- Run, bend, and terminate conduit and wiring (EMT, MC, RMC)
- Ensure all work meets NEC, state/local codes, and company safety standards
- Communicate findings and recommended repair options to customers
- Complete work orders, service reports, and material lists accurately
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and a clean/professional work vehicle
Skills & Qualifications Desired
- 3+ years of commercial electrical service experience required
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for commercial-grade systems
- Proficient in commercial wiring methods, devices, lighting, and controls
- Solid understanding of NEC standards and commercial code requirements
- Experience with:
- Lighting repair, retrofits, and lighting control systems
- Commercial panels, breakers, transformers, and branch circuits
- Conduit installation (EMT/RMC/PVC), terminations, and motor controls
- Emergency/backup power systems and surge protection (preferred)
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and prioritize service calls
- Good communication skills and customer-first approach
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various commercial environments
- State Journeyman Electrician License preferred (or working toward it)
