Pay Range

$20-$28 per hour

General Responsibilities

  • Serve as a working supervisor by directing daily crew activities while performing assigned restoration work.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments in alignment with the approved scope of work.
  • Complete required daily site documentation, including safety meeting topics, before-and-after photographs, and submission of receipts and required forms to the CSBFV Project Manager.
  • Reinforce daily safety practices and ensure crew members utilize required safety equipment.
  • Monitor crew attendance.
  • Perform skilled carpentry and general restoration tasks related to hurricane recovery projects.
  • Repair or replace damaged infrastructure such as fencing, posts, windows, doors, ceiling materials, and flooring.
  • Perform minor plumbing fixture replacements and basic repairs that do not require licensed trade work.
  • Perform minor electrical fixture replacements such as switches and lighting fixtures when no system modifications are required.
  • Cut and remove downed trees and limbs.
  • Haul debris and materials to landfill or designated disposal areas.
  • Assist with vegetation restoration and general site recovery efforts.
  • Perform other related disaster-recovery duties as assigned.

To apply, you must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

  • Individuals who are temporarily or permanently laid off as a consequence of Hurricane Helene/Milton receive priority.
  • Dislocated workers receiving reemployment compensation, or who have exhausted reemployment compensation.
  • Other dislocated workers such as spouses of active-duty military, recently separated veterans, or displaced homemakers.
  • Self-employed individuals who become unemployed or significantly underemployed due to the Hurricane.
  • Long-term unemployed workers-unemployed six out of the past 13 weeks

Skills & Abilities:

  • Experienced in construction, carpentry, facilities maintenance, or related field required.
  • Prior experience leading or supervising small crews preferred.
  • Communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction and instruction.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Working knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and equipment assembly and repair.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools, including chainsaws, circular saws, grinders, miter saws, hedge trimmers, pole saws, and standard measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of job site safety practices.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Work outdoors in hot and physically demanding conditions, including climbing stairs.
  • Ability to use a smartphone application for timekeeping and communication.
