Job Summary
Monitors to ensure security of the entire facility. Fill assigned post orders on a 7-day rotation with 12-hour shifts. Patrols all buildings, parking lots, and grounds to assure security and prevent damage to or loss of company and employee property. Complete detailed logs and reports as necessary.

Pay Range
$16-$20.90 per hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Provide professional, courteous, and customer service level security to anyone entering the campus, and when appropriate, in any situation an emergency should arise.
2. Respond to incidents, handle unruly guests or visitors and handle issues in a calm, professional manner, using appropriate problem-solving skills.
3. Monitor points of egress and egress, and conduct regular but random rounds, both on foot, and in a vehicle.
4. Monitor and proficiently operate computer systems to include cameras, access controls, and alarms.
5. Patrols all buildings and property, checking doors, windows and access gates to assure security.
6. Monitoring all systems for fire, flood, and any facility damage.
7. Maintains daily logs as instructed by Manager.
8. Completes incident reports as needed.
9. Daily housekeeping of guardhouse.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Two or more years experience in security functions, or physical access control preferred.
2. Must be able to pass a drug screen, and criminal background check, including driving history.
3. Must have a valid driver’s license.
4. High School diploma or equivalent required.
5. Must present a clean, neat and professional appearance, and positive customer service attitude.
6. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, use good judgement and common sense, and be able to communicate effectively with a variety of people. Must be firm but fair, professional, courteous, but also be able to take charge, command, and give instructions when situations arise.
7. Must be able to abide by company policy and guidelines and instructions from management and supervisors without question.
8. Must be able to use a computer without difficulty, and effectively monitor computer-based camera, access control, and alarm systems, with previous knowledge of said systems a plus.
Must be able to work 12-hour shift (day or night) on a 7-day rotation and maintain alertness.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be physically fit, mentally alert, and emotionally stable to respond in the event of an emergency.
- Must be able to sit for long-periods of time.
- Must be able to walk or stand and work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to work extended shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle, if needed.
- Must be able to climb stairs or ladder if needed.
- Must be able to patrol in the dark, if required.
- Must able to lift up to 50 lbs.
